MAPLE GUILD

SYNOPSIS OF PROJECT

Our multi-day shoot with The Maple Guild took us deep into Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom, where tradition meets innovation in the art of maple syrup production. Set against the backdrop of rolling hills and endless sugarbush, we documented the process—from the quiet stillness of the forest to the energy inside the sugarhouse, where sap transforms into liquid gold.

Through a mix of documentary-style portraits and sweeping landscapes, we captured the sugar makers at work, the land that sustains them, and the dedication it takes to produce Vermont maple syrup on a large scale. It was a true celebration of craft, heritage, and the connection between people and place—a story told through the light, the steam, and the rhythm of the season.
